Conversion Class

1. Study Jewish history, beliefs, and practices, often with a rabbi or through classes.
2. Get involved in Jewish community life, including holidays and services.
3. Immerse in a mikveh before a kosher beth din.
4. Accept the commandments, though not required to keep them.
5. Circumcise if male, or undergo a symbolic circumcision if already circumcised.
6. Adopt a Hebrew name.
7. Appear before authorities for evaluation.
8. Receive a Shtar geirut (Certificate of Conversion).
